Derya Erbil Emes was born in 1980 at Trabzon. After her graduation from Antalya Science Highschool in 1997, she continued her education as a guest-student at Latina August Hermann Franke Landesgymnasium, Germany.

She attended to Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 1998 and graduated in the honor list in 2003. In 2004 She started her postgraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry Periodontology division and graduated in 2011 after presenting her thesis on “Evaluation of the effect of platelet-rich plasma on wound healing quality after free gingival graft procedures” as DDs, Ph.D. Dr. Emes is a member of Turkish Society of and European Federation of Periodontology. She speaks English and German at an advanced level.
